Arrive by international flight and our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for check in. Cochin always had a very popular & historical sea trade connection with Middle East, Mediterranean Europe, Dutch & British. It has one of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian coastline. A city of peninsulas & islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub. Check in and relax for the day. Stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Cochin visiting St. Francis’ Church, built in the year 1503 by Portuguese Francisan Friars & known to be the oldest European church in India. We also visit Dutch Palace, originally built by the Portuguese. Later in 17th century they modified it & presented it to the Raja (King) of Kochi (Cochin).
Later, visit Jew Town, synagogue, built in the year 1568, is magnificently decorated by Chinese tiles & Belgian chandeliers. Next we head the spice market, where the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices & history that brought the world to its doorstep. Chinese fishing nets, (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here.
In the evening discover the famous dance drama of Kerala, the “Kathakali” show. Return back to the hotel for the overnight stay.
Check in the hotel, and we will begin with the Tea Plantations which are the heart of Munnar. In the year 1976, these plantations were taken over by TATA’S – one of the biggest manufacturers of tea in India. Here we will take you around to see a factory, where the entire process of picking, segregating, drying, threshing and aroma packing is done.
In the evening, you can take a walk down the Photo Point. A picturesque place to see, explore and settle down – here you can take snaps and explore the natural beauty! The dinner and stay shall be at the pre – booked hotel only.
Munnar is a bounty of beauty; here you will see nature at its best! And in this natural cradle, there live hundreds of animal and plant species! So, on the 2 day we will take you to Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary or Eravikulam National Park (whichever is open).
In the afternoon, after lunch we will take you to Mattupetty Lake, a man – made lake formed by hydro – electricity dam (Mattupetty Dam). Next we will take you to 2 wonderful waterfalls of Munnar – Nyayamakad and Attukul. Nature bestows upon them and it’s peaceful to sit down and see the water falling. Return and overnight stay in the hotel.
After your breakfast at the hotel, continue to Thekkady – Periyar Wildlife Reserve. This sanctuary is an established tourist spot and home to elephants, tiger, bison, sambar, wild boar, langur etc. with unending Chains of hills and spice-scented plantations. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. Later, go on a spice plantation tour where you can touch, smell and taste almost all the spices seen worldwide. Due to its location in the lower mountains around 1000 meters above sea level, Periyar is blessed with numerous types of spices. Later enjoy a stroll through the spice Markets of Kumily. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Early morning we take a guided Jungle walk through the Periyar Tiger Reserve/National Park. A three hour relatively easy to moderate walk is very interesting and will give us a chance to see wildlife life from a very close distance. Later in the afternoon we board a boat and cruise the lake at the heart of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. In the evening we attend a KALARIPAYATTU SHOW which is the oldest form of martial arts and is celebrated as the mother of all martial arts. Return and stay overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and get driven to Alleppey. On arrival board the houseboat, locally called Kettuvallam, and cruise around beautiful Vembanad lake. They have it all – the balcony with cushy seats to enjoy the scenic river beauty, kitchen to cook in, air – conditioned rooms, and dining area to have the meals served. Enjoy the scenic beauty as the boat slowly cruises through the backwater and the village areas and marvel the lush vegetation, paddy fields, coconut palms, fishing nets and all. Enjoy the full day cruising and anchor for night stay.
Morning breakfast you will be transferred to Kovalam in car. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Evening you will be free at Kovalam Beach. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Trivandrum after breakfast- Trivandrum, is an ancient city with tradition dating back to 1000 BC. This capital city of Kerala is a beautiful seaside metropolis built on seven hills. It is located on the west coast of India spreading over a total area of 2,192 sq.km. Sightseeing tour is comprehensive with the visits to Padmanabhaswami Temple, Srichitra Art Gallery, Napier Museum and Horse Palace. Return Kovalam and visit the Lighthouse and spend rest of the time by the beach. Stay overnight at the hotel.
